2001 Honda VFR800 |
Not suitable for 2-up so I sold it in 2001 and bought the 'Busa. |

2000 Honda RC51 | I owned this one for a weekend until Rose advised me that she would not ride on the uncomfortable 'bitch' seat. Oh, well... so much for that. | https://bikez.com/motorcycles/honda_rvt_1000_r-rc_51_2002.php
2001 Suzuki GSX-1300R Hayabusa |
Rose's fave. World's fastest production motorcycle since 1999. https://www.cycleworld.com/2012/04/02/fifty-years-of-do-you-have-any-idea-how-fast-you-were-going/ |
https://bikez.com/motorcycles/suzuki_gsx_1300_r_hayabusa_2001.php
2001 Honda CBR600 F4i |
My fave. This one forced Carpal Tunnel Syndrome surgery #2 on my right hand. CTS symptoms: throttle hand falls asleep after 5 minutes of riding, only baby finger and thumb had any feeling in them making it hard to ride safely. Two different cruise controls did not help. Hindle slip-on muffler made a nice sound. |

2004 Yamaha WR-250F |
Wheelie popper. Verrrrry lightweight! |
https://bikez.com/motorcycles/yamaha_wr_250_f_2004.php
2004 Yamaha TTR-230T |
Chris' bike - suits his height better than the WR250. Another wheelie popper. |

2004 Yamaha Vstar Custom 1100 |
I customized this one to be a low-rider. Many people have copied the combination of accessories. |

2004 Suzuki Burgman 400 |
This is the second scooter with more power than the first (2014 Suzuki Burgman 200). This will become Chris' motorcycle *if* he gets his motorcycle license. |

|
2005 Suzuki GSF650S Bandit | Old school carbureted inline 4-cylinder standard bike with 'bikini' fairing. | https://bikez.com/motorcycles/suzuki_bandit_650_2006.php
2006 Suzuki GSF650S Bandit | Same as '05 but with lower mileage. | https://bikez.com/motorcycles/suzuki_bandit_650_2006.php
2007 Suzuki GSX-R1000 |
Gixxer. Very light and very fast. It has firm sport/racing suspension which is not something to tour on; you'll be tired of feeling every asphalt blemish after only half-an-hour. |
https://bikez.com/motorcycles/suzuki_gsx-r_1000_2007.php
2008 Suzuki GSX-650F |
Hindle slip-on muffler made a nice sound. 85HP. I should not have sold this bike because now they're really hard to find. |
https://bikez.com/motorcycles/suzuki_gsx650f_2008.php
2009 Kawasaki Ninja 500R |
I bought her from an ad in GPBikes.com because she looked so good. Glenn and I drove to Whitby ON to pick her up with the ATV trailer at the end of the Winter. It had a sloppy transmission and marginal build quality all the way around so I sold her within a year. |
https://bikez.com/motorcycles/kawasaki_ninja_500r_2009.php
2010 Honda VFR1200FA DCT |
Automatic transmission. 170HP - world's fastest scooter! Just couldn't get used to no clutch and a weight of 600 pounds. Yeah, I know that's the future with eBikes but it's still too heavy. |
https://bikez.com/motorcycles/honda_vfr1200f_2010.php
2012 Suzuki GSX-1300R Hayabusa |
2nd generation 'Busa. This one forced Carpal Tunnel Syndrome surgery #1 for both left and right hands. Too bad because it was a dream to drive despite its ability to hit 300km/h. |
https://bikez.com/motorcycles/suzuki_hayabusa_gsx1300r_2012.php
2014 Suzuki Burgman 200 |
Pix Link |
My first "scooter" - what a blast! Lightweight, VERY agile, incredible on gas! I bought this very low mileage (4,159km) bike from a retired lady for a lot less than market value. |
https://bikez.com/motorcycles/suzuki_burgman_200_2014.php |
2015 Kawasaki Z1000 ABS |
Very symmetrical layout, and mean looking. Suspension could not be softened - I felt everything on the road so it was gone the following year. |
https://bikez.com/motorcycles/kawasaki_z1000_2015.php
2016 Honda CB1100A |
With Dart fairing (new) and with Emgo Viper fairing (old). Dyno'd with Power Commander to 84hp/63ft/lb at the rear wheel, not at the crankshaft like the factory specifies. Expensive insurance, even with TDInsurance.com If this bike weighed 100 pounds less, it would be almost perfect.
|
https://bikez.com/motorcycles/honda_cb1100_2016.php
2017 Suzuki DR650 |
The seat was like sitting on 2x4 lumber. Also, I've learned that I don't like single cylinder "thumpers". |
https://bikez.com/motorcycles/suzuki_dr650se_2017.php
2018 Suzuki GSX250R |
Insurance was only $454/yr, half of what I've paid for bigger bikes. The engine churns 7500 RPMs at 100km/h - this bike is NOT going to last with those revs. I sold it while the KMs were still low. |
https://bikez.com/motorcycles/suzuki_gsx250r_2018.php
2019 Suzuki GSX-S1000FZA |
Good balance of weight, handling and braking but far too much power; it's an overpowered sport-touring bike. |
https://bikez.com/motorcycles/suzuki_gsx-s1000fz_2019.php
2019 Husqvarna Svartpilen 701 | Svartpilen means "The Black Arrow" in Swedish. Lightweight 369 lb. "wet", 75HP, 53FP, high-revving "thumper". Why did I sell it? Because it has a very narrow powerband such that if your RPMs weren't in the right range (4500+), then it lugged badly. | https://bikez.com/motorcycles/husqvarna_concept_svartpilen_701_2018.php
2020 Kawasaki Ninja 400 SE |
Only 366 pounds - lightest bike of its size! Cheap insurance, too. You have to shift into 2nd gear at about 5mph because it doesn't have the torque to start out in 2nd gear. It's noobing me out! |
https://bikez.com/motorcycles/kawasaki_ninja_400_se_2020.php
2020 Ducati Panigale v2 |
This work of art ranks amongst the most beautiful motorcycles ever built. Although this Italian is quite beautiful, she's a bitch to ride: 'lopey' at idle requiring tender feathering of the clutch, vibrating mirrors that are useless, and a seat that forces you to ride up on your genitals as you brake. In a word - uncivilized. That aside, the 0.39 power-to-weight ratio was just crazy power! |
https://bikez.com/motorcycles/ducati_panigale_v2_2020.php
2021 Honda CB650R |
Finally, a bike with: - good weight (445 pounds curb weight). It's easy to maneuver - the right power (HP: 82 @ 10,870, Torque: 43 ft.-lb. @ 8,000 at the rear wheel) - the right insurance cost (2/3 of what I was paying for the CB1100A) What it doesn't have is a windshield or fairings for wind deflection on the highway. |
https://bikez.com/motorcycles/honda_cb650r_2021.php
2022 KTM 390 Adventure |
Key selling features: - It's incredibly light and it goes anywhere - Power is barely adequate KTM offers this bike in 390 (single) and 890 (twin) sizes but nothing in between. |
||
2023 KTM 790 Duke |
Key selling feature: - It's incredibly light (less than 400 pounds)! - It's very torquey - Waiting on the Puig windshield... |
